The f 150 Lariat for sale is a big American truck that combines advanced tech features, new powertrains and bold styling in a package that will please a wide audience. Its ladder-frame chassis, which underpins all trim levels and cab configurations, is also old-school tough and can easily handle the rigours of work and family hauling.

The local-built 2023 F-150 range starts with the base XL dual-cab in regular wheelbase (SWB) form and stretches to the flagship Lariat we’re testing here. Both models can be ordered in long-wheelbase (LWB) form, which grafts 300mm between the axles and, we expect, will prove popular with buyers looking to lug about serious loads.

2023 Ford F-150 Lariat Configurations: Choosing the Right Options

Both SWB and LWB versions are available in single- and double-cab configurations with either two- or four-doors. We’ve tested a three-door XLT, which is the most popular grade and will account for 65 per cent of sales. It comes standard with a rear-view camera, six airbags and active safety gear that includes autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection and lane-keep assist.

Upgrade to the $7,050 Lariat Series equipment group and you’ll add LED side mirror spotlights, a fancy Bang and Olufsen sound system with rear-seat entertainment, heated steering wheel and rear seats, and a 360-degree camera that’s activated when trailering. It’s a handy feature that reduces the need to manually check the back of the trailer when changing lanes or backing out of a parking space. It also makes reversing a breeze and helps to prevent collisions with objects behind the trailer.
